I like to bring the richness of the natural world to life in my work. I feel we are merely small parts of this greater ecosystem. I use the sky as my starting point and try to build a sense of energy and space here. This aim of this painting 'One versus mountain' was to celebrate the notorious magnitude of the 'Swiss Wall' black run in Avoriaz. I chose a large canvas and worked quickly across the canvas following the contours of the mountain and the falling, layering pattern of snow.
