I aim to invite my viewer into a window of nature, bringing the atmosphere of the outdoors into their homes. This painting shows the beautiful scene of Bushy Park, one very cold January morning this winter. The sky was my starting point on the canvas and with the sun rising, there were many layers of colours to blend in. The weeping willow trees basked in the rising sunlight and took centre stage. I used a 4 inch flat brush for much of the painting, followed by a palette knife, where I pulled the paint across the canvas to add highlights and texture.
